6 Days Tour from Fes to Marrakech and South Morocco

After a hearty breakfast at your riad, dive into the soul of Fes on a full day journey through its rich spiritual and cultural tapestry. Wander the ancient medina, discovering historic gems like the Al Karaouine Mosque and University the oldest in the world the  tanneries, and the beautifully carved Nejjarine Fountain. 

After lunch, explore beyond the medina walls with visits to the grand Royal Palace gate, the old Jewish Quarter (Mellah), and a traditional pottery cooperative. As the day winds down, head to a scenic fortress for sweeping views of Fes’ maze like medina, then return to your charming riad nestled in the heart of this timeless city.

After breakfast in Fes, set off on a scenic drive toward the Middle Atlas Mountains, with your first stop in Ifrane nicknamed the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its alpine charm. Stroll its peaceful streets before continuing to Azrou’s cedar forests, where wild Barbary monkeys roam freely. The journey unfolds through Berber villages like Timhdit and Midelt.

Then over the High Atlas to Errachidia, where lush palm groves form a breathtaking oasis. Passing Erfoud, famed for its ancient fossils, the road gives way to desert tracks leading to Merzouga the gateway to the Sahara. You'll unwind in a charming hotel nestled at the foot of the dunes, the perfect gateway for the Sahara adventure that awaits you the next day.

Today promises a true taste of desert life as we explore the depths of Erg Chebbi. We’ll start by visiting the village of Khamlia, then venture off the beaten path to remote nomadic communities who warmly welcome us into their world. Along the way, discover hidden desert homes and old French mines near the Algerian border. Back in town, you’ll savor a delicious “Berber pizza” unique to the region. 

Later, your magical camel trek begins led by an experienced guide across golden dunes, pausing for photos and a mesmerizing sunset. By evening, arrive at your desert camp for dinner, Berber music, and stargazing under the vast Sahara sky.

After breakfast, we set off to Rissani, once the great Sijilmassa a hub for ancient caravans from Timbuktu trading salt across Morocco. After exploring its  market, we travel through semi desert terrain toward the lush Tinghir Oasis and the dramatic Todra Gorges, where 300 meter cliffs attract climbers from around the world. 

After lunch, we head into the stunning Dades Valley and pass through the fragrant Rose City of Kalaat M’Gouna, where local cooperatives craft rose based products. Driving the famous “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs,” we reach cinematic Ouarzazate, home to Atlas Studios where films like Gladiator and The Mummy came to life before settling into our hotel for the night.

After breakfast, we head toward the iconic Ait Ben Haddou, Morocco’s most famous kasbah and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you’ll wander its ancient alleys steeped in history. From there, we take a scenic off road route to the fascinating Telouet Kasbah, once the opulent palace of the Glaoui family, former rulers of Marrakech. 

Our journey continues across the majestic Tizi n’Tichka Pass the highest in Morocco at 2,260 meters with breathtaking mountain views and a lunch stop along the way. By evening, we arrive in the imperial city of Marrakech for a relaxing overnight stay in a charming riad.

After breakfast, get ready for a full day guided tour of Marrakech, the legendary “Red City,” named for its sun drenched walls and rich history. You’ll explore highlights like the serene Menara Gardens, the intricate Saadian Tombs, the opulent Bahia Palace, the towering Koutoubia Mosque, and the  Majorelle Gardens.

Wander through the colorful souks and end your day in the heart of it all Jemaa El Fna Square where storytellers, musicians, artisans, and snake charmers bring the city’s soul to life. You'll also have some free time to explore at your own pace before returning to your riad for a relaxing overnight stay.
